Street Light: Blackouts!

We are aware of a number of street lights on the estate that are not working, specifically the areas of Drake, Scott, Clive and Livingstone Way.

The underground street lighting cables have been damaged by a utility contractor when excavating in the footpath for the installation of new water pipes in the area.

There is an ongoing dispute between National Grid and Vale of Glamorgan (VoG) Council regarding ownership of the underground cabling.

The VoG Council are currently negotiating with National Grid to get the necessary repairs undertaken and we’re hoping this will be resolved shortly.

In the meantime, we have contacted SSE, the electricity provider, but as this is a cabling issue, they are unable to offer any help.

If the dispute between National Grid and VoG Council continues, we will contact local MP, Alun Cairns, for his assistant in the matter.

Update (02.02.24): Contractors on site have added temporary flood lights to the affected area for safety measures until the issues can be resolved.
